About the Beech Bonanza 36 (Turbo)
The Beechcraft Bonanza B36TC is a high-performance, turbocharged variant of the legendary Bonanza line, produced from 1982 to 2002. Unlike the earlier A36TC, the B36TC utilizes the longer wing of the Baron 58 (spanning nearly 38 feet), which provides increased fuel capacity (102 gallons usable) and improved high-altitude handling.
Powered by a 300 hp Continental TSIO-520-UB engine, it is capable of cruising in the flight levels (up to FL250) at speeds around 200 knots, though it is unpressurized, requiring supplemental oxygen for pilot and passengers at those altitudes.
It is prized by owner-pilots for its range (allowing 1,000 nm trips), heavy-hauling capability, and the robust build quality associated with the Beechcraft brand. However, pilots transitioning from the standard A36 should note the longer wingspan affects ground handling and hangarage requirements.
