About the Dassault Falcon 2000S
Overview
The Dassault Falcon 2000S is the short-field member of the Falcon 2000 family, certified in 2013. It is the wide-body Falcon 2000 airframe with Pratt & Whitney Canada PW308C engines and the Honeywell Primus Epic EASy II flight deck, fitted with inboard wing slats and blended winglets for the best runway performance in the super-midsize class. The S trades the long-range LXS’s fuselage fuel tank for short-field access: a landing distance near 2,315 ft and roughly 3,350 nm of range. It shares the PW308C generation lineage with the 2000EX (2003), 2000EX EASy, 2000DX, and 2000LX that preceded it.
Key Features for GA Buyers
- Class-leading short field. Inboard slats give the 2000S a landing distance near 2,315 ft and a takeoff field length around 4,325 ft, letting it work runways most super-mids cannot.
- Wide-body cabin. The S keeps the full Falcon 2000 stand-up, flat-floor cabin, the same cross-section as the larger Falcon 900.
- EASy II flight deck. The Honeywell Primus Epic EASy II deck is the modern Falcon cockpit, a generational step over the original 2000’s Pro Line 4.
- Transcontinental range. At roughly 3,350 nm the S covers coast-to-coast US legs with reserves while keeping its short-field edge.
Trade-offs
- Shorter range than the LXS. The removed fuselage tank that buys the short-field performance also caps range below the 4,000 nm LXS; buyers choosing the S are prioritising runway access over ultimate range.
- Two-crew, program-maintained. Like every jet in the class it is a two-pilot airplane on an enrolled engine program; budget for crew and the PW308C program rate.
- Avionics depth. The EASy II deck rewards thorough training, a consideration for crews moving from a conventional panel.
