Piper Aircraft, Inc., founded in 1927 as the Taylor Brothers Aircraft Manufacturing Company in Rochester, New York by brothers Clarence G. Taylor and Gordon A. Taylor and later purchased and led by William T. Piper, is a Bruneian-owned American general aviation manufacturer based in Vero Beach, Florida. Known for iconic models such as the J-3 Cub and Cherokee series, Piper has produced over 144,000 aircraft across more than 160 certified models, with approximately 90,000 still flying worldwide
