About the Praetor 600E
Overview
The Praetor 600E is the 2026 evolution of Embraer’s super-midsize flagship, announced alongside the Praetor 500E. It keeps the Praetor 600’s airframe, Honeywell HTF7500E engines, and class-leading 4,018 nm range, and shares the EMB-550 type certificate with the rest of the Legacy/Praetor line. What changes is the cabin and the safety suite: a first-in-class 4K OLED “Smart Window” and ROAAS runway-overrun protection as standard. First deliveries are expected around 2029.
Key Features for GA Buyers
Smart Window cabin. An industry-first 42-inch 4K OLED touchscreen integrated into the cabin wall serves meetings, streaming, and external-camera views; the cabin adds electric-assist seats and a silent air-curtain panel in place of traditional gasper vents.
ROAAS as standard. The Runway Overrun Awareness and Alerting System acts as a virtual co-pilot during landing, a meaningful safety upgrade over the original 600.
Unchanged mission performance. It carries the same HTF7500E engines, 4,018 nm range, and Mach 0.83 high-speed cruise (Vmo 320 KIAS) as the Praetor 600. The ‘E’ is a cabin-and-safety refresh, not a performance change.
Trade-offs
- Availability. Announced for 2026 with deliveries not expected until roughly 2029; near-term buyers will be shopping the original Praetor 600 on the in-production and used market.
- Cabin-tech complexity. The integrated cabin-management and OLED window systems add digital complexity to maintain over the aircraft’s life.
