About the Embraer Praetor 600E

Type certificated 2026 Source: third-party reference

Overview

The Praetor 600E is Embraer’s 2026 evolution of its super-midsize flagship, launched in February 2026 alongside the Praetor 500E and type-certified by ANAC, the FAA, and EASA in April 2026. It keeps the Praetor 600’s airframe, Honeywell HTF7500E engines, and 4,018 nm range, and shares the EMB-550 type certificate (FAA TC00062IB) with the rest of the Legacy and Praetor line. What changes is the cabin and the safety suite: a 42-inch 4K OLED “Smart Window,” electric-assist seats, and ROAAS runway-overrun protection as standard. First customer deliveries are scheduled for the first quarter of 2029.

For the buyer, the 600E is a wait-or-buy question more than a different airplane. The performance matches the proven Praetor 600, so anyone who needs a super-mid before 2029 buys the Praetor 600 new or on the used market and shops it against rivals like the Bombardier Challenger 3500 and Cessna Citation Longitude on the usual terms. The 600E earns its premium for the owner who can wait for the delivery timeline specifically to get the OLED Smart Window cabin and standard runway-overrun protection.

Key Features for GA Buyers

  • Smart Window cabin. A 42-inch 4K OLED touchscreen integrated into the cabin wall (Embraer’s announced first for a business-jet cabin) for meetings, streaming, and external-camera views, with electric-assist seats and a silent air-curtain panel in place of traditional gasper vents.
  • ROAAS as standard. The Runway Overrun Awareness and Alerting System alerts the crew when the aircraft is tracking toward a runway overrun, a safety layer the original 600 does not carry as standard.
  • Unchanged mission performance. The same HTF7500E engines, 4,018 nm range, and Mach 0.83 high-speed cruise (Vmo 320 KIAS) as the Praetor 600; the ‘E’ is a cabin-and-safety refresh, not a performance change.

Trade-offs

  • Deliveries from 2029. The 600E is certified, but first customer aircraft are not scheduled until the first quarter of 2029; near-term buyers will be shopping the original Praetor 600 on the in-production and used market.
  • Cabin-tech complexity. The integrated cabin-management and OLED window systems add digital systems to maintain over the aircraft’s life.
