About the Short Skyvan SC7
The Short SC.7 Skyvan is a British twin-turboprop aircraft first flown in 1963, manufactured by Short Brothers of Belfast. It has a rugged design, STOL capabilities, and a large rear door for loading and unloading freight. The aircraft was initially powered by piston engines, then turboprop engines, with the final production version using Garrett AiResearch TPE331 turboprops. A total of 149 Skyvans were produced before production ended in 1986, and they have been used in various operations, including military, civilian, air-to-air photography, and skydiving. The Skyvan remains in service with some civilian and military operators, including Guyana and Oman.
