About the Cessna Conquest II

The Cessna 441 Conquest II is a high-performance turboprop that punches well above its weight class. Powered by extremely efficient Garrett TPE331 engines, it offers jet-like speeds (300+ knots) and transcontinental range (2,000+ nm) on a fraction of the fuel burned by a Citation.

Key Features:

  • Efficiency: The 441 is legendary for its specific range. It can fly from Los Angeles to Washington D.C. nonstop (with favorable winds) while burning less fuel than many King Airs use on much shorter trips.
  • Garrett Engines: The direct-drive TPE331-8 (often upgraded to -10) engines are the heart of the airplane. They provide instant power response and high-altitude efficiency, though they are louder on the ground than the PT6.
  • RVSM Capable: With a service ceiling of 35,000 ft, most 441s are RVSM equipped to take advantage of favorable winds in the high 20s and 30s.

Trade-offs:

  • SIDs (Supplemental Inspection Documents): Like the 425, the 441 fleet is subject to rigorous structural inspections. Due to high airframe times, these inspections can be costly.
  • Complex Systems: The 441 is more complex than the 425, featuring a higher pressure differential (6.3 psi) and a unique tail structure that was the subject of early Airworthiness Directives.
