Globe Aircraft Corporation
Aircraft Manufacturer
The Globe Aircraft Corporation was an American aircraft manufacturer formed in 1940 in Fort Worth, Texas. Initially known as the Bennett Aircraft Corporation, it was renamed in 1941 and produced the single-engined Globe GC-1 Swift, which was later redesigned and produced as the all-metal GC-1A Swift. However, the company focused on wartime sub-contracting work, producing 600 Beech AT-10s and components for other aircraft like the Curtiss C-46. The company was declared bankrupt in 1947, with its assets and design rights for the Swift being acquired by the Texas Engineering and Manufacturing Company (TEMCO).
